About

I’m Eileen McCarthy, a relationship coach. For 15 years I worked as a psychotherapist, helping people build honest, compassionate relationships — with others, and with themselves.

Eileen McCarthy, relationship coach

In my work with clients, I watched thoughtful, warm, self-aware people lose themselves in modern dating — swiping, performing, quietly absorbing every non-reply as a verdict on their worth. I saw the same thing again and again: what people needed wasn’t a better strategy for being chosen. It was a way to stay connected to themselves while searching for love. Dating Human grew out of that work.

I believe dating can become one of the greatest opportunities for personal growth.

My goal isn’t simply to help you find a partner. It’s to help you stay connected to yourself while creating the kind of relationship you truly want.

My Philosophy

You don’t have to become someone else to be loved.

The healthiest relationships begin when you stop waiting to be chosen and start choosing a life that reflects who you really are.

Dating isn’t a test of your worth. It’s an opportunity to discover what matters most to you.

At Dating Human, success isn’t defined by whether someone gets married or finds a long-term partner. A person can benefit profoundly from dating even when a relationship does not continue. The measure of growth is who you become in the process and how you learn to relate to yourself and other people.

Coaching, not psychotherapy

Dating Human is a coaching practice, separate from my psychotherapy practice. Working together here does not create a therapist–client relationship.
